TELONE™ Stewardship: Calibration Guide

When it comes to combating soil-borne pests, using the right product accurately is crucial. TELONE™ II is a powerful solution that can effectively control certain soil-borne pests. However, the equipment used to apply TELONE™ II must be calibrated correctly to ensure that the product is applied uniformly and at the right rate. Teleos has developed this guide to assist applicators in proper rig calibration. Download the full Calibration Guide in PDF form, here.

To calculate the flow rate yourself, use the equation:

*Shank-to-shank width in inches

How to use this chart:

  1. Before calibration, refer to the product label and follow PPE guidelines.
  2. Find your plow share width or shank spacing.
  3. Find your actual speed of implement while in operation.
  4. Locate your desired rate along with the correct color hose.
  5. Where these intersect (speed and rate), is the amount you should catch from each tube in one minute.
  6. Locate the Pressure Chart and find the PSI setting to deliver the desire amount just calculated.
  7. Catch the flow from each tube to verify the rate.
  • The Pressure Chart gives an indication of where to set the pressure gauge to give the desired flow rate. Catch the flow to verify the rate. Adjust the PSI gauge as necessary to get the target flow rate.
  • All hoses going from manifold to the foot pieces and manifold to the pressure gauge must be 15 feet long, to ensure accuracy.
  • For TELONE™ II only: Site glass containing Delrin balls will not float at less than 10.5 oz/min flow.
  • For TELONE™ + Chloropicrin blends only: Site glass containing Teflon balls will not float at less than 10.5 oz/min flow.
